Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Set to Reopen on Sept. 20

By: Amy Kawa

Disney officially announced that Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will reopen to the public following cleanup from Hurricane Irma on Wednesday, September 20th. Disney did not release much detail as to what needed too happen in order to reopen the resort, but it appears everything is back in proper order and up to Disney’s standards.

With the opening of the resort, Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will resume taking reservations and will resume normal operations on Thursday, September 21st.  Hoop Dee Doo Revue will resume its longest-running stage show tomorrow night when the resort reopens.

There were a good number of rumors going around last week that Fort Wilderness was closing because of the damage sustained during Hurricane Irma.  Disney never released such a statement, and these rumors were obviously FALSE.
