Epcot opened to the world on October 1, 1982, making this year the theme park’s 35th anniversary. Disney has released a list of special events that will commemorate the occasion on October 1, 2017.
- At 10:01 a.m., a special anniversary celebration will be held at the Fountain View stage. Two World Showcase favorites, Mariachi Cobre and Voices of Liberty, will be on-hand to celebrate the occasion.
- This celebration in the morning will be book ended at 9:00 p.m.with a special edition of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.
- Most of which has already been released, exclusive Epcot’s 35th anniversary merchandise is available for guests to purchase. An “I Was There” collection has been specifically designed for this year’s milestone. Items in the collection will be available only at a “pop-up” shop (which will be open for one day only/while supplies last), located just past the Art of Disney location at Epcot on October 1.
- A commemorative Epcot Guidemap and Times Guide will also be made available.
Keep an eye out for even more details as we move into the coming weeks!
