Epcot’s The Circle of Life – An Environmental Fable to Close

By: Amy Kawa

Another Epcot attraction is on its way out.  The Circle of Life – An Environmental Fable in The Land will be shown for the final time on February 3, 2018.  The attraction has found its home in The Land since 1995.

The attraction follows The Lion King stars, Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa, on a humorous journey that warns the audience against current practices and dangers bringing harm to our environment.  While the show was somewhat humorous and entertaining, it never found popularity with the Disney crowds and never drew a following.  Many Disney insiders are surprised this attraction has survived as along as it has.

According to WDWNT, Disney will use the theater that houses the film as a training space for Disney Performing Arts, which currently uses a trailer between the Germany and Italy pavilions in World Showcase, the now rumored spot for a new country to be added – Brazil.  (Yes, finally!!!)
