In today’s world, where women are showing their strength and how much power they have when they join together, particularly in Hollywood (#TimesUp), one of the original of the originals leading ladies finally got her day in the spotlight. Minnie Mouse received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame January 22, 2018.
Minnie made her first appearance in 1928’s Steamboat Willie, the same film in which longtime boyfriend, Mickey Mouse, also made his debut. Throughout her lengthy career, Minnie Mouse has been in over 70 films (both short and feature films), but she remains as timeless today as when she burst onto the animation scene 90 years ago. Minnie Mouse is also a pop culture icon, as her red and white polka dot-look is recognized throughout the world as distinctly “Minnie.”
Minnie Mouse’s star is the 2,627th to be added to the Walk of Fame. Minnie is the sixth Disney character to be enshrined on the Walk of Fame, joining Mickey Mouse, Tinkerbell, Winnie the Pooh, Donald Duck, and Snow White.
You can celebrate Minnie’s milestone with Disney’s “Rock the Dots” collection here. Congrats, Minnie!
