While “passholder previews” may be a thing of the past, annual passholders will still get exclusive access to Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios – AFTER it opens. With a scheduled opening date of June 30th, Toy Story Land will feature three E-ticket attractions, including Toy Story Midway Mania, Slinky Dog Dash, and Alien Swirling Saucers, which passholders will have exclusive access to. Woody’s Lunch Box will also be open during the passholder time for guests to purchase snacks.
While it is not known exactly when these passholder times will be (date or time-wise), online registration will be required, so all annual passholders should keep an eye out for an exclusive invitation from Disney in the coming weeks. Eligible passholders (gold, platinum, and platinum plus), are allowed to register themselves and one guest.
Dreamer Amy’s Take: Are cast member previews really going to be the only “testing” that happen for new attractions/lands set to open in Walt Disney World? I understand that there are a lot of annual passholders in this world, so the exclusivity and ability to keep things under wraps is harder when things are open to more of the public. However, the perk of even having the opportunity to experience things before the general public was a HUGE deal that used to be a part of the annual pass, and one that I hope comes back, particularly with Galaxy’s Edge set to open at the end of 2019. It is my hope that passholders will have exclusive access to Star Wars Land at some point because without such access, it will be months before passholders (who willingly pay a great deal of money per year) will be able to full enjoy that land without spending hours and hours waiting for attractions, characters, and in restaurants.
I understand that the ability to have passholder previews is not a guaranteed perk that comes with the annual pass fee each year. However, it seems like even the chance for these previews to happen is less and less of a possibility.
