Some Walt Disney Restaurants Removed from OpenTable

By: Amy Kawa

Towards the end of last year, many Disney restaurants started popping up on OpenTable, a popular online reservation system.  However, it seems like the majority of those restaurants have been take off OpenTable or will be in the coming weeks.

OpenTable does not require a credit card guarantee to reserve a table.  No-shows are often a problem for Disney restaurants, so a credit card guarantee (where the credit card on-file will be charged $10 for each person on the reservation), offers quite the incentive to combat the no-show issue.  Therefore, the cons of making a reservation without any consequences for not showing up outweighed the pros of utilizing OpenTable as an alternative to fill empty tables.
