Toy Story Land officially opened to guests on June 30, 2018. The land features three attractions: Toy Story Mania, Slinky Dog Dash, and Alien Swirling Saucers and a new quick service spot, Woody’s Lunch Box. Throughout opening weekend, lines consistently topped the 4-hour mark for Slinky Dog Dash and the queue just to get into the land itself wrapped around the majority of the park – all the way to the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater.
While it will be a couple of weeks before Dreamer Adam can report back on his experience, for now, we will rely on some of our friends’ videos for an up-close and personal account of Toy Story Land and its attractions.

The land really seems to take on new life after the sun sets. Vibrant colors and lights transform Andy’s backyard into a beautiful, glowing paradise. Let’s take a ride on Slinky Dog Dash at night to get a feel for what I’m talking about.

Dreamer Amy’s Take: From what I have seen from pictures and videos, Toy Story Land looks absolutely amazing! Disney does an impeccable job of putting guests into the stories they are telling, and this land looks like no exception. An over-sized Woody and Buzz Lightyear, giant Tinker Toys, and larger-than-life playing cards make you feel like you’re really one of Andy’s toys, playing with the gang in his backyard. The theming looks to be on-par with some of Disney’s best! Despite the budget rumored to be cut in half for Toy Story Land, the Imagineers have done something great in a park that badly needed a jolt of energy.
When it comes to the attractions in the new land, I can’t wait to continue to improve my score on Toy Story Mania. I also look forward to the lower wait times that will come for TSM thanks to the two new attractions in the land. I can’t wait to be driven around by a Green Alien on Alien Swirling Saucers, spinning and dodging THE CLAW! Slinky Dog Dash looks poised to become an instant Disney classic. A smooth, family-friendly coaster, most reviews thus far have said Slinky packs more of a thrill than one may expect, but still leaves every member of the family smiling from ear-to-ear.
Food is as much a part of the excitement of Walt Disney World for me as any attraction. If s’mores french toast doesn’t get you to Hollywood Studios for breakfast in the morning, than you’re missing something. Woody’s Lunch Box has been getting rave reviews for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and I can’t wait to try some of these delicious, new menu items!
Toy Story Land is a welcome addition to a dilapidated Hollywood Studios and will hopefully spread the crowds out more throughout the park and keep guests in the gates for more than just a couple of hours by adding new things to do and see. As Hollywood Studios enters a new era and tries to regain some sense of identity, Toy Story Land will keep guests happy… for now. Hollywood Studios will change as we know it forever in a little over a year when Galaxy’s Edge lands in late fall of 2019.
