Animal Kingdom has some incredible dining options already, and Disney has recently announced some new additions coming this summer to take the in-park dining experience up another notch.
Pizzafari is one of the most popular restaurants in all of Walt Disney World thanks to a kid-friendly menu in a park that offers a lot of exotic options. Starting July 31st, Pizzafari will remain quick-service-only for lunch but will switch to both quick-service and a brand-new Pizzafari Family-Style Dining Experience for dinner.
This new experience will utilize two of the Pizzafari dining rooms, where the rest of the restaurant will still be used for the quick-service diners. The family style meal will feature a selection of family-style plates delivered right to your table: two appetizers (Caprese Salad and Caesar Salad), three entrees (pasta, chicken, and pizza dishes), and of course a dessert (cannoli cake).
Pizzafari Family-Style Dining will be offered between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. daily. The cost is $19.99 for guests ages 10 and up and $11.99 for guests ages 3-9. Reservations are now open through My Disney Experience.
Tiffins has become a favorite among guests and critics in Animal Kingdom, bringing signature dining to the park for the first time. Now, a new dual-option prix-fixe lunch menu offers guests the choice between an appetizer and an entrée, or an entrée and a dessert.
This new lunch offering is available daily from 11:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. The cost of this prix-fixe menu is $35 per guest, including gratuity and tax. Reservations are now available for this lunch option on My Disney Experience.
3. Rivers of Life Dessert Party
Animal Kingdom was the only park to not have a dessert party before (or after) its nighttime spectacular. Magic Kingdom has a dessert party before AND after Happily Ever After; Epcot has the Frozen Ever After Dessert Party prior to Illuminations; Hollywood Studios has a Star Wars Dessert Party prior to Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular and a smaller Fantasmic Dessert Party; all three of these parks have additional dessert parties before their special holiday nighttime shows. Well, Animal Kingdom is now jumping on the dessert party train!
Beginning August 11th and running select nights, guests will enjoy house-made desserts, snacks, specialty alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, iced tea, lemonade, and water before heading to see Rivers of Light from a VIP seating area. Check-in will be located at the Rivers of Light Asia Viewing Area Terrace, located across from Expedition Everest, 60 minutes prior to the show. The pricing is $79 for adults and $49 for kids (ages 3-9) and must be paid in-full at the time of booking. Reservations are now available by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463).
