For Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus, and Premier Passholders only, Walt Disney World will be offering special evenings at Magic Kingdom and Epcot for Passholders to spend two extra hours in the park after closing. Select attractions, shops, and dining will stay open for these events.
The dates for the V.I.Passholder Nights are:
- August 5th, 2018 at the Magic Kingdom from 10pm to 12am
- September 6th, 2018 at Epcot from 9pm-11pm
- October 25th at Epcot from 9pm-11pm
These events are free to the Passholders but they must register in advance. Emails were sent out earlier this week, and each date filled to capacity.
Dreamer Amy’s Take: I think opening the park specifically for Annual Passholders is a fantastic idea! We pay a lot of money each year, and perks like this make it that much more lucrative. However, I have a problem with such limited-time offerings. These dates are less than two weeks to three months from now, so most people already planned Disney trips that fall in this time frame months ago. I feel like short-term, date-specific perks like these are meant for locals, and those of us who are not as fortunate to live a stone’s throw away from the Mouse are left to keep our secured vacation dates and hope and pray that one of these events fall within our plans. It’s harder for us to plan a vacation for these events specifically. V.I.Passholder Nights, After Hours, DVC Moonlight Magic – all awesome events, and I understand exclusivity is part of the allure, but it makes it hard to see these as real perks to most Passholders.
